Last week, Novus Med was delighted to support the ST3 Urology Bootcamp in Leeds, a long-established educational programme led by Mr Shekhar Biyani and colleagues, designed to help new Specialist Trainees prepare for their first weeks in urology training.
We were proud to support Module 8: Endourology, led by Mr Jake Patterson and Mr Will Finch, alongside an expert faculty drawn from centres across the UK. The Bootcamp consistently receives outstanding feedback, thanks to its emphasis on hands-on training, practical skills development, and one-to-one mentoring.
At our station, delegates gained valuable experience in flexible ureteroscopy and laser lithotripsy using the Dornier Thulio laser, HugeMed single-use flexible ureteroscopes, and Innovex/EGOWMed navigable suction access sheaths. Working through simulated stone cases, participants developed their scope handling skills, learned key principles of laser use, and gained confidence navigating the collecting system.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the week is seeing delegates progress over the course of the programme, building both technical skills and confidence through repeated hands-on practice.
A huge thank you to the course organisers, faculty, and delegates for making this such a valuable educational event. It’s always a pleasure to support high-quality urology training, reconnect with colleagues from around the country, and help develop the next generation of endourologists.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s course.
